“Green Power Environmental Services” is preparing to launch a new plant for the production of refuse-derived fuel (RDF), with investments totaling 120 million pounds and an estimated annual production capacity of 160,000 metric tons.
Through this move, the company aims to expand its production of alternative fuels and strengthen its ability to meet the growing demand from energy-intensive industries, particularly cement plants.
Ahmed Hanafi, chairman of the board of directors of “Green Power for Environmental Services,” said that the company aims to begin trial operations at the plant and on the production lines before the end of this year, with the facility reaching full production capacity by the beginning of 2027.
In remarks to *Al-Mal*, Hanafi added that the company has already begun the process of contracting for a number of pieces of equipment and machinery needed for the plant, in preparation for completing the outfitting work and commencing operations according to the target timeline.
He noted that “Green Power” has been in contact with a number of companies and investors in various markets, including China, Malaysia, and Indonesia, to explore opportunities for establishing waste recycling plants and projects in those countries.
