- Cement plants should be obliged to gradually switch to globally used fuel alternatives from waste, or RDF for short, to reach 25% of their total fuel needs. The most appropriate use of half of the accumulated waste in Egypt is to use it as an alternative fuel for cement plants.
- Each ton of this waste can provide 120 cubic meters of natural gas .
- One cement line consumes 420,000 cubic meters of natural gas per day , and it can operate using alternative fuels of agricultural origin, garbage or dry sewage sludge, up to 80% in some European countries .
- There are 16 cement factories operating 37 lines with a total consumption of 15,540,000 cubic meters /day .
- In Egypt, 50,000 tons of garbage is generated / day, 40% of which can be extracted, i.e. about 20,000 tons/day of alternative fuel equivalent to 2,400,000 cubic meters of gas with 16% replacement for natural gas.
- The temperature in cement kilns reaches 1200 degrees, it breaks the bonds of carcinogenic gases and turns into harmless gases inside cement kilns, thereby contributing to solving a major environmental and health problem.
